Before I jet off on my next adventure to Italy, I realised I hadn't actually shared the pics from my last sunny break to Marbella last November. We (myself and my Peachy partner-in-crime, Rachel) were kindly invited to the beautiful Amàre Beach Hotel located in the Old Town of Marbella for a winter weekend escape.
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - GETTING THERE
We flew from Glasgow Airport with Jet2 who regularly fly to Malaga from Glasgow all year round. Our flight was super quick and, upon arrival at Malaga airport, we were greeted by our (very handsome) chauffeur for our private transfer to the hotel, approximately 30 minutes away.
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - LOCATION
The Amàre Beach Hotel is located, funnily enough, right next to the beach and just a stones throw from the historic, colourful and picturesque Old Town.
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The hotel reception is grand but quite understated and very classy and chic. There's white marble everywhere and some seriously cool art adorning the walls. The staff on reception were extremely welcoming and friendly and quickly got us checked in so we could check out our room...
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - OUR ROOM
We were treated to THEE best room in the hotel and one of the most beautiful rooms I've ever stayed in. We had two huge beds, a beautiful (albeit, slightly open plan) bathroom, lounge area and, the pièce de résistance, the balcony! We had the perfect view for both sunrise and sunset and it was so calming and the perfect spot to watch the world go by...
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - DINING
We tried all the dining options at Amàre and they were all of a really high standard. When we arrived on the Friday afternoon, we headed to the poolside bar/restaurant for a late lunch. We ordered some spicy guacamole to share and I opted for a smoked salmon sandwich whilst Rach went for a club sandwich. Rach has a nut allergy and had a reaction to her meal so if you're visiting, be sure to let them know about any allergies you have so that they can let you know exactly what you can and can't have! My (extra spicy) Bloody Mary went down an absolute treat and it was the perfect way to kick off our weekend in the warm, Marbella sunshine...
Rachel and I are big breakfast people so we were excited to try out the Amàre offering on our first morning. We were NOT disappointed!
We were shown to a fabulous table on the balcony with the most beautiful views of palm trees and blue sky as far as the eye could see. There was a huge buffet but also made-to-order eggs and pancakes and waffles - everything you would expect from a five star hotel.
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - WHAT TO DO
For our first full day in Marbella, the hotel had kindly arranged for a guided tour of the Old Town for us. We had an extremely friendly and knowledgable tour guide who met us at reception and showed us around the most beautiful streets of the Old Town.
At the Amàre, there are also lots of very cute bikes available to use for the duration of your stay. We didn't get the chance to go too far on them unfortunately but, as the promenade at the front of the hotel is so flat, it's the perfect spot for exploring.
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - THE BEACH CLUB
After our wander around the Old Town, we headed to the Beach Club for some R'n'R and a little refreshment or two too.
There is a great vibe at the beach club with comfortable loungers, a DJ and live music and a great little beach bar.
What was meant to be a quick bite turned into a very long and very leisurely lunch and everything a winter escape to the sun should be.
AMÀRE BEACH CLUB - THE POOL
The pool at the Amàre is absolutely beautiful! There is lounger service which is perfect for quenching your thirst without having to go to the bar, you just press a little buzzer and a waiter magically appears to take your order. But be warned - it makes it dangerously easy to keep ordering cocktails and food!
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - THE SPA
Late on the Saturday afternoon, we headed for even more relaxation at the luxurious spa in the Amàre. We both had a full body massage and then headed to the hot tub and sauna in the tranquil and relaxing pool area.
AMÀRE BEACH HOTEL - THE VERDICT
When we left the pouring November rain of Glasgow on the Friday morning, we couldn't wait to get to the sunshine of Marbella. The Amàre was the perfect place for a girls weekend and I couldn't fault the service, location or accommodation in the slightest.
Even although we were lucky enough to be invited for a press trip, we were already looking up our next trip to the Amàre, Marbella before we had even left. They have also just opened a new Amàre in Ibiza which I'll definitely be trying on my next visit to Ibiza.
